Northwestern is a stunning campus.
It's also a tricky one to photograph well.
The iconic spots are busy. The Arch has a line on graduation weekend. The gardens look completely different at 9am versus 7pm.
I've been photographing Northwestern graduations for years. I know how to move quickly through a range of shots at The Arch when the line is long and our window to shoot is tight. I know where the light hits Deering in the late afternoon, and how to build a session — whether it's just you or a group of fifteen — so you cover the campus you spent four years on without spending half the session walking between spots.
What you get back are portraits that are specific to this place, this milestone, this moment. Northwestern graduation photos.

Whether you're finishing your undergraduate degree, your MBA, your JD, or your doctorate — this is the session for you. One photographer. One graduate. The campus you called home for the last two, four, or seven years.
I gently direct the whole session so you don't have to think about what to do or where to look. Bring your cap, gown and stole and whatever you'd actually wear to celebrate. We'll cover the locations and looks that matter to you.
These sessions happen ideally the week before or days after Commencement weekend — the campus is quieter and you're not racing a ceremony clock.
Before everyone scatters ..capture your time together
The friend group that has defined the last four years disperses to different cities, different coasts, different lives.
What makes these sessions beautiful isn't just the stunning backdrops. It's the people. The arms around each other. The mid-laugh moments. The look between two people who have been through everything together. That's what I'm capturing — and that's what you'll still be looking at decades from now.
Individual portraits are woven throughout, so everyone goes home with images of themselves too.
Guiding a large group through that energy — across campus, through different looks and locations — is not the same as taking photos. I've done it dozens of times. I know how to move a group efficiently, minimize time between locations, and work around the spots that require patience and timing. The real skill is directing that energy — keeping people loose, keeping them laughing, and turning a group of friends into photographs that actually capture what it felt like to be together on this day.

THE PORTRAIT SESSION
Two to three campus locations — Deering Library, The Arch, The Gardens — with a range of looks: cap and gown, stole only, your dress or suit. You select your 25 favorite images from the full proof gallery. A strong, cohesive, and complete set of graduation portraits.

Weekend sessions add $50.
THE SIGNATURE SESSION
Four to six campus locations — The Arch, Deering Library, the lakefront, your college or sorority house and more. A full curated gallery of every image worth keeping from your session, fully edited, typically 50–70+ photos. Includes a $400 professional print credit redeemable directly from your gallery for wall art, prints, or a curated album.
This is the session for graduates who want to cover the whole campus they called home — not just the two most obvious spots.

FRIEND GROUP
Minimum 5 people. 60–90 minutes. A full edited gallery of 55–75 images shared with the group, with individual portraits woven throughout. One session. One afternoon. Northwestern Group Photo Sessions work best the week leading up to Commencement or directly afterwards, when everyone is still in town but the campus is quieter.
$200 per person
EXTENDED FAMILY SESSIONS
When the whole family makes the trip, a dedicated session makes sense. One hour on campus — immediate family plus grandparents, siblings, whoever made the journey. Includes 25 images of your choice.
$600 base (weekends) · $25 for each additional person beyond immediate family · Available on a case-by-case basis around Commencement weekend — reach out early, these fill quickly.

Questions You Probably Have.
When should we book?
As early as possible — graduation season fills up fast. Ideally book two to three months before your session date. Sessions typically happen the week before or days after Commencement weekend, when the campus is quieter and we have more flexibility with locations and timing.
Do you shoot on Commencement weekend itself?
I do, but I'm selective about it. The campus is crowded, the iconic spots will have wait times, and sessions take longer. If you want to shoot on Commencement day, reach out early so we can plan around the ceremony schedule.
What locations are included?
That depends on your package. The Portrait Session covers two to three iconic spots — typically Deering Library, The Arch, and the lakefront gardens. The Signature Session expands to four to six locations across campus, including the waterfront, your college or sorority house, and others based on what matters to you. We'll plan the route together on our pre-session call.
What should I wear?
Cap and gown is always included — it's graduation, after all. Beyond that, bring what you'd actually wear to celebrate: a dress, a suit, whatever feels like you. A stole only (without gown) photographs beautifully too. I'd suggest two to three looks depending on your session length. If a LinkedIn headshot is on your list, bring a clean professional top or jacket.
Can we do family portraits in the same session?
Family portraits work best as a separate session. Graduation weekend tends to mean different schedules, family members arriving at different times, and a lot of competing priorities. A dedicated Extended Family Session — on the week-end of graduation or the day after — lets everyone be present without rushing. Reach out and we'll figure out the timing together.
